The Delhi High Court has recently permitted the release of the Tamil-language action thriller "Veera Dheera Sooran," starring Chiyaan Vikram. This decision follows a legal dispute involving B4U Media, a Mumbai-based production company, which sought compensation for the inability to sell the film's digital rights prior to its theatrical release. B4U Media alleged that the film's producers announced the release date without finalizing the sale of its OTT rights, leading to financial losses.
Initially, the Delhi High Court issued an interim stay on the film's release, resulting in the cancellation of morning and afternoon shows across India and premiere screenings in the United States. The court mandated that HR Pictures, the film's production company, deposit ₹7 crore and submit relevant documents within 48 hours to proceed with the release.
"Veera Dheera Sooran," directed by S.U. Arun Kumar, features Vikram in the titular role alongside S.J. Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu (making his Tamil debut), and Dushara Vijayan. The film's music is composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar, with cinematography by Theni Eswar and editing by Prasanna GK. The narrative centers on Kaali, portrayed by Vikram, a former gangster drawn back into the underworld amidst a temple festival in Madurai.
The legal hurdles have caused significant disappointment among moviegoers and exhibitors, especially with the abrupt cancellation of scheduled shows. However, with the court's recent approval, the film is set to be released, much to the anticipation of fans eager to witness Vikram's latest performance.
